Tiger Tree, 2025

Tiger, tiger, in the tree,

how long until i meet thee?

Will it be at 1? 2? or 3?

For i have been waiting so long --

I am a slow-growing tree.

My roots have grown deep into the ground,

and i live up close by the sea.

I wait for you tiger; I am a patient little tree.

And now i hear you roaring,

I hear you coming for me.

But I will stand tall,

and i will stand strong.

After all, i have been here all along.

So here I stand and continue through this day,

even when the world has fallen into disarray.

The waves are still here, and so is the dirt.

So come here, little tiger, sit by my skirt.

I will tell you stories, whispers of time,

long, long ago --

of how the Indians planted me

and how i now still grow.

I've seen the years pass by,

and I've seen many a person come and go.

But you, little tiger,

seem to always be here, roaming to and fro.

Are you a dream? Are you me?

Or am I just the tiger tree?
